Assumption Volunteers offers ten young adults (aged 20 to 30) the opportunity to spend the month before WYD 2013 in BRAZIL, volunteering in social action projects connected to the Assumption Sisters.
Welcome to Assumption Volunteers
Assumption Volunteers is run by the Religious of the Assumption, a Catholic religious order of women, to offer young adults an opportunity to share their gifts and skills in poor communities, especially with the young, alongside Assumption communities overseas and in the UK.
We can place people with teaching qualifications and also those without professionals skills. The type of work that volunteers do depends on the skills and talents that they have to offer.
Empowering the Poor and Marginalized
All of our projects are broadly education-based. Whether you want to work as a teacher in Rwanda, in a creative arts centre in Newcastle or in one of the many community development projects in the Philippines, your role will be to empower the poor, the young and the marginalized.
