Skills Needed

Most of the placements we offer involve teaching (primary, secondary, language classes etc), youth work, community work or nursing. However, through our sister organisations, we are able to find projects that match the skills and talents that volunteers have to offer.
It is hoped that prospective volunteers would have at least one of the following:
- Knowledge of the language of the host country
- Youth work skills
- Creative, building and/or computing skills
- Professional qualifications - teachers especially!
- Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)
and also
- An ability to work alone and in a team
- An ability to adapt and integrate into new cultures and ways of living
- An ability to live simply
- Lots of enthusiasm and energy!
- An openness to do whatever may be needed to help empower the disadvantaged!
